Love, Poulter, Schwartzel, Spieth Join Field

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (Thursday, April 7, 2022) – The Heritage Classic Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting educational and charitable initiatives to enhance the quality of life and economic vitality throughout South Carolina, is proud to announce Davis Love III, Ian Poulter, Charl Schwartzel and Jordan Spieth are competing in the 2022 RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing. South Carolina’s annual PGA TOUR event will be held April 11-17 over the famed Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island, S.C.

They will join a field that includes defending champion Stewart Cink and Team RBC Ambassadors Dustin Johnson and Harold Varner III. Team RBC Ambassadors and past champions Matt Kuchar, Graeme McDowell, Webb Simpson and Brandt Snedeker are also vying for a chance to win another tartan jacket. Other notable commitments include Abraham Ancer, Daniel Berger, Matt Fitzpatrick, Tommy Fleetwood, Collin Morikawa, Cameron Smith and Justin Thomas.

Love has earned 21 PGA TOUR victories, including five wins at Harbour Town Golf Links. The Sea Island resident and University of North Carolina graduate was only 23 when he won his first in 1987, making him the youngest champion. The 2022 Presidents Cup captain and World Golf Hall of Famer will be celebrating his 33rd start at the RBC Heritage.

Poulter has carded three wins on the PGA TOUR and have 12 International victories. The Englishman has never missed the cut in his eleven starts at Harbour Town and has previously earned three top ten finishes.

Schwartzel has two PGA TOUR wins, including his 2011 victory at The Masters. He has also earned 13 international titles. The South African will be making his sixth start at the RBC Heritage.

Spieth joined the PGA TOUR in 2013 after receiving a sponsors exemption into the RBC Heritage. He finished that tournament tied for ninth. He has won twelve times on the PGATOUR including the 2015 Masters, 2015 US Open and the 2017 Open Championship. He was named PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year in 2013 and was the 2015 FedExCup Champion. He is currently ranked eighteenth on the Official World Golf Ranking and will be making his sixth start at Harbour Town.
