Four More in the OWGR Top Twenty Have Joined the RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing Field

Abraham Ancer, Tyrrell Hatton, Billy Horschel and Joaquin Niemann will be competing in the 2022 RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing. South Carolina’s annual PGA TOUR event will be held April 11-17, 2022 over the famed Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island, S.C.

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (Friday, March 25, 2022) – The Heritage Classic Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting educational and charitable initiatives to enhance the quality of life and economic vitality throughout South Carolina, is proud to announce the following four golfers, ranked in the OWGR’s top twenty, Abraham Ancer, Tyrrell Hatton, Billy Horschel and Joaquin Niemann will be competing in the 2022 RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing. South Carolina’s annual PGA TOUR event will be held April 11-17, 2022 over the famed Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island, S.C.

They will join a field that includes defending champion Stewart Cink and Team RBC Ambassadors Dustin Johnson and Harold Varner III. Team RBC Ambassadors and past champions Matt Kuchar, Graeme McDowell, Webb Simpson and Brandt Snedeker are also vying for a chance to win another tartan jacket. Other notable commitments include Daniel Berger, Matt Fitzpatrick, Tommy Fleetwood, Collin Morikawa, Cameron Smith and Justin Thomas.

Ancer is ranked 19th in the Official World Golf Rankings and earned his first win on the PGA TOUR at the 2021 WGC – FedEx St. Jude Invitational. The dual citizen of the United States and Mexico has also carded one International victory. He will be making his fourth consecutive start at the RBC Heritage. He has previously finished in second place in 2020 and tied for 18th in 2021.

Hatton is ranked 17th in the Official World Golf Rankings and finished tied for third at the 2020 RBC Heritage just one behind Ancer. The Englishman has earned six international victories and carded his first PGA TOUR victory at the 2020 Arnold Palmer Invitational. He made local headlines after finishing the nearby Palmetto Championship at Congaree in 2021 tied for second. He will be competing at Harbour Town for the fifth time.

Horschel is ranked 16th in the Official World Golf Rankings and has earned six victories on the PGA TOUR. He was crowned the FedExCup champion in 2014 after winning the BMW and TOUR Championships. He has previously carded two top ten finishes at the RBC Heritage and will make his tenth consecutive start at Harbour Town.

Niemann is ranked 18th in the Official World Golf Rankings and has won twice on the PGA TOUR including the 2022 Genesis Invitational where he went wire-to-wire. He is the first player from Chile to win on the PGA TOUR and has competed at Harbour Town just once in 2020 finishing tied for 5th.
