South Carolina’s Signature Event, taking place over the Harbour Town Golf Links, is proud to announce Akshay Bhatia, Patrick Cantlay, Matt Fitzpatrick, Max Homa, Scottie Scheffler and Justin Thomas will be competing at the 57th tournament April 14-20, 2025.
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC – As one of eight limited-field events, this year’s highly anticipated RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing will feature the top players on the PGA TOUR. South Carolina’s Signature Event, taking place over the Harbour Town Golf Links, is proud to announce Akshay Bhatia, Patrick Cantlay, Matt Fitzpatrick, Max Homa, Scottie Scheffler and Justin Thomas will be competing at the 57th tournament April 14-20, 2025.
Defending Champion Scottie Scheffler is number one on the Official World Golf Ranking and has earned 13 PGA TOUR wins since the beginning of the 2021 season, including wins at the 2024 Masters and RBC Heritage, making him the first player to have back-to-back wins since Bernhard Langer did it in 1985. In 2022, he received the Jack Nicklaus Award, making him the first to win Korn Ferry Tour Player of the Year, PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year and PGA TOUR Player of the Year. Scheffler grew up in New Jersey, played golf at the University of Texas and now calls Dallas home. He will be making his third start at the RBC Heritage.
Matt Fitzpatrick earned his second PGA TOUR victory at the 2023 RBC Heritage by defeating then defending champ Jordan Spieth in a playoff. The Englishman earned his first victory on the PGA TOUR at the 2022 U.S. Open. He has also earned seven international victories. He earned a spot in the 2014 RBC Heritage at just 19 years old by winning the 2013 U.S. Amateur and was the number one amateur at that time. The now 30-year-old will be making his tenth start at Harbour Town Golf Links.
Akshay Bhatia is currently ranked 21st on the Official World Golf Rankings. He made his first professional start at 17 years old at the 2019 Valspar Championship and turned pro later that year. Bhatia was the first high schooler to represent the United States in the Walker Cup. He has carded two wins since joining the PGA TOUR in 2023. The Los Angeles native, who now calls Jupiter, Florida home will be making his third start at the RBC Heritage
Patrick Cantlay is currently 15th on the Official World Golf Rankings and is always one to watch at the RBC Heritage. He has carded an impressive six top ten finishes in seven starts at Harbour Town. The UCLA graduate has earned eight wins on the PGA TOUR including four in 2021, earning him the FedExCup title and the Jack Nicklaus Award as PGA TOUR Player of the Year.
Max Homa was a member of the 2023 Ryder Cup and has won six times on the PGA TOUR since joining in 2014. He grew up in California but now lives in Scottsdale, Arizona with his wife and baby. He will be making his fourth start at Harbour Town. His first was in 2020, when the tournament took place in June due to COVID-19.
Justin Thomas is currently 9th on the Official World Golf Ranking. His win at the 2022 PGA Championship made him the sixth player since World War II to win 15 titles before turning 30 years old. He has carded three top ten finishes this season and will be making his seventh start at the RBC Heritage.
PGA TOUR professionals have until Monday, April 14th to commit to compete. The complete field will be posted on RBCHeritage.com at that time.
