PAST CHAMPION SPIETH LEADS LATEST RBC HERITAGE COMMITMENTS

April 10, 2024

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (Wednesday, April 10, 2024) – As one of eight limited-field events, this year’s highly anticipated RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing will feature the top players on the PGA TOUR with no cut, as well as increased prize money and FedExCup points. South Carolina’s only Signature Event, taking place over the Harbour Town Golf Links, is proud to announce Wyndham Clark, Jason Day, Nick Dunlap, Rickie Fowler, and Jordan Spieth will be competing at the 56th tournament April 15-21, 2024.

They will be joining defending champion Matt Fitzpatrick along with previously committed standouts Max Homa, Viktor Hovland, Collin Morikawa, Xander Schauffele and Scottie Scheffler.

Wyndham Clark is number four on the Official World Golf Ranking. The Colorado native joined the PGA TOUR in 2018 but burst into the spotlight last season with wins at the Wells Fargo Championship and U.S. Open, earning him a spot on the USA’s Ryder Cup Team. He will be making his sixth consecutive start at the RBC Heritage, having never missed the cut.

Jason Day has carded 13 wins, including the 2015 PGA Championship and the 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson. The Australian has been a member of four Presidents Cup teams and has carded three top ten finishes this season. He will be competing in his seventh RBC Heritage, his first since the 2020 event held in June without spectators.

Nick Dunlap made headlines in the golf world early this year after becoming the first amateur to win a PGA TOUR event since Phil Michelson in 1991. Playing on a sponsor exemption, he won The American Express after shooting a third round 60, entering the final round with a three-shot lead. Four days later, the University of Alabama sophomore announced his decision to turn professional. The 20-year-old will be making his first start at Harbour Town.

Rickie Fowler’s first PGA TOUR start was as an amateur at Harbour Town thanks to a sponsor exemption in 2008. He has earned six PGA TOUR victories, most recently at the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic and has three International wins. The 34-year-old has made six cuts in eight starts this season and will be competing in his eighth RBC Heritage.

Jordan Spieth finished the 55th RBC Heritage in second place after losing a playoff to Matt Fitzpatrick. In 2022, Spieth bested Patrick Cantlay in a playoff to win the 54th RBC Heritage. Spieth joined the PGA TOUR in 2013 after receiving a sponsor exemption for the RBC Heritage. He finished that tournament tied for ninth. He has won thirteen times on the PGA TOUR including three majors. He was named PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year in 2013 and was the 2015 FedExCup Champion. He will be making his eighth RBC Heritage start and has never missed a cut at Harbour Town.

PGA TOUR professionals have until Monday, April 15th to commit to compete. The complete field will be posted on RBCHeritage.com at that time.
