HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — Jordan Spieth and Justin Harding have both announced they are competing in the 51st RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing. South Carolina’s only PGA TOUR event is taking place April 15-21, 2019 on Hilton Head Island.
They join a field that includes defending champion Satoshi Kodaira and Team RBC Ambassadors Dustin Johnson and Webb Simpson. Team RBC Ambassadors and past champions Jim Furyk, Matt Kuchar, Graeme McDowell and Brandt Snedeker are also vying for a chance to win another Tartan jacket.
Spieth joined the PGA TOUR in 2013 after receiving a sponsors exemption into the RBC Heritage. He finished that tournament tied for ninth. The Dallas, Texas native went on to earn his first PGA TOUR win that same year at the John Deer Classic. He has won ten more times in his career, including the 2015 Masters, 2015 US Open and the 2017 Open Championship. He was named PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year in 2013 and was the 2015 FedExCup Champion. He has also been a member of every Ryder and Presidents Cup team since 2013. He will be making his fourth start at Harbour Town.
Harding finished day one at The Masters tied for sixth place and is attracting attention with his long handle putting style. The South African has earned one International victory and is ranked 49th on the Official World Golf Rankings. He will be competing in the RBC Heritage for the first time.
