HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC – Seven Team RBC Ambassadors are the latest to commit to the 49th annual RBC Heritage. Graham DeLaet, Ernie Els, Adam Hadwin, David Hearn, Matt Kuchar, Brandt Snedeker and Nick Taylor will all be competing for the champion’s plaid jacket. South Carolina’s annual PGA TOUR event is being held April 10-16, 2017 over the famed Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island, S.C.
They will be joined by fellow Team RBC Ambassadors and past champions Jim Furyk and Graeme McDowell.
DeLaet is from Saskatchewan, Canada and graduated from Boise State University. He has earned three Mackenzie Tour – PGA TOUR Canada victories and has four second place finishes on the PGA TOUR. He will be making his sixth start at Harbour Town.
Els is one of the most successful golfers in the history of the game, having won 72 tournaments since turning professional in 1989, including the 2002 and 2012 British Open Championship and the 1994 and 1997 U.S. Open Championship. He has captured two World Golf Championships and a record seven World Matchplay titles. The South African native has competed at Harbour Town 17 times and has carded seven top ten finishes.
Hadwin is from British Columbia, Canada and graduated from the University of Louisville in 2009. He has earned two wins on the WEB.COM TOUR and The Mackenzie Tour – PGA TOUR Canada. He will be competing in the RBC Heritage for the third time.
Hearn graduated from the University of Wyoming in 2008 and is from Ontario, Canada. He has one WEB.COM TOUR win. It will be his seventh consecutive start at Harbour Town.
Kuchar won the 2014 RBC Heritage in dramatic style, holing a bunker shot for birdie on the 18th hole to earn a final day 64 and a one-stroke victory. It was his seventh PGA TOUR win and capped a stretch of four consecutive top-five TOUR finishes. It also helped earn him a spot on his third U.S. Ryder Cup team. The Sea Island, Georgia resident has competed in the RBC Heritage 13 times since turning pro in 2000.
Snedeker earned his eighth win on the PGA TOUR at last year’s Farmers Insurance Open. After winning the 2011 Heritage, Snedeker won twice in 2012, first at the Farmers Insurance Open and then at THE TOUR Championship. Those wins helped him earn the 2012 FedExCup title. He will be making his 12th start at Harbour Town Golf Links.
Taylor grew up in British Columbia, Canada and graduated from the University of Washington. His first win on the PGA TOUR was in 2014 at the Sanderson Farms Championship. He will be making his third start at Harbour Town Golf Links.
