RBC HERITAGE GRANTS THREE MORE SPONSORS’ EXEMPTIONS

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC – Corey Conners, David Hearn and Sam Saunders have all been granted sponsors’ exemptions into the 50th annual RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing.  South Carolina’s annual PGA TOUR event is being held April 9-15, 2018 over the famed Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island, S.C.

They will join a field that already includes defending champion Wesley Bryan and Team RBC Ambassador and number one ranked player in the world Dustin Johnson. Team RBC Ambassadors and past champions Jim Furyk, Matt Kuchar, Graeme McDowell and Brandt Snedeker are also vying for a chance to win another Tartan jacket.

Conners is from Ontario, Canada and joined the PGA TOUR in 2015. He caught the golf world’s attention at this year’s Valspar Championship when he held the solo lead for the first three rounds. He got into the field as the third alternate and finished T16 after shooting 67-69-68-77. He will be making his second start at Harbour Town Golf Links.

Hearn is a Team RBC Ambassador who is also from Ontario, Canada. He competed for Canada in last summer’s Olympic Games.   He will be making his eighth consecutive RBC Heritage start.

Saunders had two top ten finishes last season and T8 at this year’s Career Builder Challenge. The Orlando, Florida native played golf at Clemson before turning pro in 2009.  He is the grandson of the late Arnold Palmer, who won the first Heritage in 1969. Saunders finished tied for 11th in last year’s RBC Heritage and will be competing at Harbour Town for the fifth time.
