March 16, 2022

Cameron Smith, Justin Thomas and Daniel Berger will be competing in the 2022 RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing.

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (Thursday, March 17, 2022) – The Heritage Classic Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting educational and charitable initiatives to enhance the quality of life and economic vitality throughout South Carolina, is proud to announce Cameron Smith, Justin Thomas and Daniel Berger will be competing in the 2022 RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing. South Carolina’s annual PGA TOUR event will be held April 11-17, 2022 over the famed Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island, S.C.

They will join a field that includes defending champion Stewart Cink and Team RBC Ambassadors Dustin Johnson and Harold Varner III. Team RBC Ambassadors and past champions Matt Kuchar, Graeme McDowell, Webb Simpson and Brandt Snedeker are also vying for a chance to win another tartan jacket. Other notable commitments include Matt Fitzpatrick, Tommy Fleetwood and #2 ranked Collin Morikawa.

Cameron Smith is sixth in the Official World Golf Rankings. The Australian joined the PGA TOUR in 2015 and carded his fifth win on the PGA TOUR at last week’s Players Championship. In a dynamic conclusion to five days of bad weather and high drama, Smith one-putted eight of his last nine holes and delivered one of the gutsiest shots of his career for the cushion he needed to win. Leading by two on the par-3 17th hole, 135 yards to the hole on an island green, Smith split the difference in the 12 feet that separated the flag from the water. The ball ended up 4 feet away and he made his record-tying 10th birdie of the round. He will be making his seventh start at the RBC Heritage, after finishing T9 at the 2021 event.

Justin Thomas is eighth in the Official World Golf Rankings and is only the fourth player since 1960 to win 14 times on the PGA TOUR before turning 28, joining Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus and Johnny Miller. The Kentucky native has represented the United States at the 2017 and 2019 Presidents Cup, the 2018 and 2020 Ryder Cup, and the 2020 Olympic Games. He will be making his fourth start at the RBC Heritage.

Daniel Berger is 19th in the Official World Golf Rankings and earned his fourth victory on the PGA TOUR at last season’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He won by two strokes over Maverick McNealy after sinking a 30-foot, 7-inch eagle putt on the 72nd hole. The Florida native has represented the United States at the 2017 Presidents Cup and the 2020 Ryder Cup. He finished the 2020 RBC Heritage tied for third place and will be making his fifth start at Harbour Town.
