HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — John Augenstein, Bill Haas and Boo Weekley have been granted sponsor’s exemptions into the 51st RBCHeritage Presented by Boeing. Past Champion and RBC Ambassador Graeme McDowell was also granted an exemption in February. South Carolina’s only PGA TOUR event is taking place April 15-21, 2019 on Hilton Head Island over the famed Harbour Town Golf Links.  

They will join a field that includes defending champion Satoshi Kodaira and Team RBC Ambassadors Dustin Johnson and Webb Simpson. Team RBC Ambassadors and past champions Jim Furyk, Matt Kuchar and Brandt Snedeker are also vying for a chance to win another Tartan jacket.

Augenstein, who grew up vacationing on Hilton Head Island, earned his exemption by winning the 2018 Players Amateur event held in Bluffton, South Carolina. The Kentucky native and Vanderbilt junior, started the final round in the lead and shot a 4-under 67 to win with a four day total of 16-under.

Haas has earned six PGA TOUR victories and was the 2011 FedExCup winner. The Greenville, South Carolina resident is following in his dad Jay’s footsteps and making the RBC Heritage a tradition.  Bill hasn’t missed the Harbour Town event since finishing Q-school in 2005.  Bill also won the 2002 Players Amateur, an event held in Bluffton, South Carolina and operated by the Heritage Classic Foundation.  

Weekley won back to back tournaments at Harbour Town in 2007 and 2008. In 2013, he earned a third plaid jacket, this time at the Dean and Deluca Invitational at Colonial. He was sidelined in 2017 with an elbow injury then discovered he had cancer in his shoulder. His first start back after recovery was at the Puerto Rico Open.  He will be competing in the RBC Heritage for the 12th time.
