WHO'S COMPETING IN THE RBC HERITAGE?

CHARITABLE GIVING PROGRAMS RESTARTED

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC - Thursday, February 25, 2021 — The Heritage Classic Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting educational and charitable initiatives to enhance the quality of life and economic vitality throughout South Carolina, has announced its two charitable giving programs have been restarted ahead of the 2021 RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing.

These programs, utilized by more than 85 nonprofits, make it easy to support charities and causes that enhance the quality of life in South Carolina.

Birdies for Charity is an easy and fun way to donate to your favorite nonprofit organization. 100% of donations go directly to the chosen charity and Heritage Classic Foundation contributes an extra 10%. The Heritage Classic Foundation has distributed $6.22 million through the Birdies for Charity program since it was created in 2000.

The Heritage Champions Fore Charity program is designed to increase year-round support to the nonprofit organizations in our communities. The minimum contribution to a designated charity is $1,000. 100% of donations go directly to the charity and Heritage Classic Foundation contributes an extra 10%. Heritage Champions Fore Charity has produced more than $13.63 million for participating nonprofit groups since 2013.

When the 52nd RBC Heritage, scheduled for April 13-19, 2020, was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the financial impact forced the Foundation to suspend the matching gifts associated with the Birdies for Charity and Champions Fore Charity programs.

“The mission of the Heritage Classic Foundation is to improve the lives of those living in South Carolina,” said Heritage Classic Foundation Charity Committee Chairman Stan Smith. “The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a toll on our registered charities and we hope the reinstated matching gifts will help during this unprecedented time.”

The 53rd annual RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing will take place April 12-18, 2021, over the famed Harbour Town Golf Links. When you purchase a ticket to South Carolina’s only PGA TOUR event, you help the Heritage Classic Foundation support its educational and charitable initiatives. Learn more at www.rbcheritage.com. A history of giving is the heart of our Heritage, and now that the charitable giving programs have been restarted, the Heritage Classic Foundation can get back to the “heart” of our mission.
