HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (Thursday, March 4, 2021) The Heritage Classic Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting educational and charitable initiatives to enhance the quality of life and economic vitality throughout South Carolina, has awarded a sponsors exemption to the 53rd annual RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing to native Bryson Nimmer. South Carolina’s annual PGA TOUR event is being held April 12-18, 2021 over the famed Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island, S.C.
Bryson Nimmer was born in Bluffton, South Carolina and led Hilton Head Christian Academy to the state championship in 2013. He followed in his father, Tony’s footsteps and competed for Clemson University until he graduated in 2019. His many collegiate awards include ACC Freshman of the Year and first team All-American in his senior year.
In 2019, he competed in 11 events on the MacKenzie TOUR in Canada, making eight cuts. In 2020, he dominated the LOCALiQ Series with two victories and a runner-up finish. The eight tournament series was created by the PGA TOUR following the cancellation of much of the PGA TOUR's global development tours due to the COVID-19 pandemic. His wins earned him an exemption into the 2021 RBC Canadian Open and last week’s Puerto Rico Open, where he shot three-under and finished in the top forty.
Nimmer has had previous success at two other events hosted by the Heritage Classic Foundation. In 2014, he won the Sea Pines Junior Heritage after he holed out to force a playoff and, in the summer of 2017, he was runner-up at the Players Amateur held at Berkeley Hall Club.
The 53rd annual RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing will take place April 12-18, 2021. When you purchase a ticket to South Carolina’s only PGA TOUR event, you help the Heritage Classic Foundation support its educational and charitable initiatives. Learn more at www.rbcheritage.com.
